how i work
No matter the therapeutic modality, I work from a systems-based perspective—seeking to understand both your internal experience and the larger contexts that have shaped, and continue to shape, your life.
My primary modalities are Internal Family Systems and Somatic IFS, and my background in neuroscience informs how I listen—particularly when working with clients experiencing somatic symptoms. I pay close attention to nonverbal information and gently offer these observations as openings for deeper exploration.
I think of our work together as a collaboration. I bring an understanding of the process, and you bring an understanding of yourself. My role is to help you reconnect with your own inner knowing about who you are and what you need.
“This is your body, your greatest gift, pregnant with wisdom you do not hear, grief you thought was forgotten, and joy you have never known.” — Marion woodman
Individual sessions
Individual psychotherapy sessions are largely IFS sessions. I encourage all prospective clients to watch this video to learn more about IFS. I sometimes incorporate mindfulness-based modalities and cognitive approaches into IFS when needed.

insurance
I am out-of-network with all insurance carriers. However, many plans offer out-of-network benefits for psychotherapy and I can provide you with a superbill at the end of each month to file for reimbursement.
Contact your insurance provider about your coverage if out-of-pocket pay is not a feasible option for you.
I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots if you are in need of a reduced fee. All my sliding scale spots are currently full and I keep this section updated as that changes.
In compliance with the No Surprises Act, you are entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate.

Therapy is generally most effective at a weekly frequency if finances allow. You and I will work together to determine an appropriate frequency of sessions based on your therapeutic goals and financial needs.
-
This is completely up to you! Some people are going through a brief period of transition or challenge and are looking for extra support during that time only, while others are hoping to understand and modify significant things about themselves that take time.
-
Remaining out-of-network allows me to prioritize my clients’ care above all else and prevents a third party from making treatment decisions. Check out some recent articles on the topic, linked below.

Therapy rates vary by location because the cost of living—and the cost of running a practice—differs from place to place.

I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant payment system that was explicitly designed for therapists. Your credit card information will be encrypted and stored in an app called IvyPay and will never be visible to me.

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Sessions missed without 24+ hours notice will be billed in full, except in cases of true emergency.
